I’d like to inform you of our Christmas choir practice schedule. We are going to have practice every Wednesday evening from 8:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. In addition, we will have Sunday practice times at 5:30 p.m. (ending promptly at 6:30 p.m.) on the following dates: November 1st, 15th, 29th and December 13th. Our performance will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 18th. All participants please arrive at 6:00 p.m. Please come in the following attire for our Christmas performance: Men – black dress pants, white dress shirt and your favorite Christmas tie, Ladies – black skirt and white blouse. I am looking forward to having you help make this Christmas season at First Baptist Church of Emerson a great time for our church family. See you at practice!
Connecting to God in Worship Our goal is to help you connect to God through worship. God designed worship to be done individually and together. Individually, we worship through reading His Word, obeying the Biblical principles we discover therein, and by communing with God in prayer. Together we worship by declaring God’s greatness, hearing His truths proclaimed, and meeting each other’s needs.
Take this first step toward God in worship. Join us weekly for worship that is engaging, relevant, and helpful to your life.
Could You Serve in Worship? We seek to give expression to our worship of God through the gifts and talents He has given to those in our faith community. We have a number of people who lend their talents to our worship experiences each week, but there is always room for you. Below are some of the ways you can join our worship team:
Band and Vocal Team This group of players and singers give their hearts and talents to make worship musically excellent and spiritually authentic. There are always opportunities for you to use your gifts and talent. Auditions are required for the band and vocal team, and are made by appointment by contacting the Pastor of Worship, Joey Faulk, at joey@fbc-e.org.
Worship Choir We have two different choirs. The Traditional Worship Choir which rehearses weekly, and sings in our 8:30am service each week. If you have a desire to blend your voice with others in classic songs of worship then Traditional Worship Choir is for you. Our Traditional Worship Choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 5:15-6:00 p.m. The Contemporary Worship Choir has online access to the songs we sing in our contemporary worship time. The Contemporary Worship Choir meets backstage at 10:50am on Sundays to pray before worship begins. Creative Programming We are always seeking new and creative ways to worship our God. Many people are needed to help design and construct sets, write and perform dramas, poems and songs. If you could create expressive art work through painting, drawing, photography or interpretive dance contact the Pastor of Worship, Joey Faulk, at joey@fbc-e.org or call the church office at 770.382.5874 for more information.
